Make up is the most important part in Gyaru, even if you can’t afford the clothing you want, you will be passing as a Gal if you get the makeup right !
Eye makeup is the meat and potatoes for gyaru undepending on what subsubculture!! Some Gals have heavier and more exreme make up while other Gals like to keep it simple.
Gyaru must haves for eye makeup are Top Lashes, Bottom Lashes, Circle Lenses & thin Eyebrows.
There are a lot of different types or top&bottom lashes so just try out what fits you the best. I’m a big fan of Dolly wink lashes, they’re cheap and super cute ! You can order them on Amazon yesstyle & Ali express! For a thicker look I glued 3-5 topLash pairs on each other.

You can get affordable contact lenses on Blue banana, Matlens & Amazon.
You don't need any special makeup supplies, most things you can get in drug stores. The basics are
- White Kajal/White Karneval Makeup for your eye bags ( or highlighter depending on your preferences )
- light brown or orange eyebrow pencil
- black Kajal
- matting powder
-nude lipstick or gloss
A lot of people will say that you can't wear fast fashion for gyaru wich is very untrue!!! Of course having branded clothing is prettier and has better quality, but wearing fast fashion is completely fine. These days Gals even model for fast fashion brands like Shein.
If you're himekaji or agejo it might be something else, but I'm not part of these subcultures so lmk how it is in the comments! I can imagine that for himekaji brands are more important simply because it's a substyle of Lolita where brands are very very important!
You can also always watch videos on YouTube about how to get into gyaru the channel that helped me the most was Hime Hime stars Channel ! They even made a video about how to get into gyaru. I definitely recommend their videos, even if you're already into Gyaru fashion I think their videos are very interesting and useful!
